“Lynne, you have earned the respect of all the people you work with, from front-line mechanics and pilots to your colleagues in the People division and senior leaders. In short, you exemplify the best in us all: you can always be counted on to deliver a professionally-developed, high-quality product when we need it.”

“Lynne, I want to thank you for conducting the recent Sterile Processing workshops. You put a lot of effort and time into the workshops. I know the group is definitely challenging and for the overwhelming majority of staff, the workshop made a difference – either in behavior changes, work performance, awareness of their impact on the big picture, or even that someone cares about what they do.
The workshops were organized, allowed for staff participation, and provided a neutral leader’s influence and perspective. The feedback you provided me was insightful and will help me as I continue to work with that group. Thanks again for your help.”
Ann Marie Thomas, RN, MS
Administrative Director, Surgical Services

“I agree – you did a great job with the Sterile Processing workshops. In addition to Ann Marie’s feedback, I think these workshops also made a big difference to the union as it showed that we were putting all efforts forward. Thanks, Lynne!”

“Lynne is an extraordinarily effective teacher. As a psychologist she understands that leadership involves real people in complex situations. She provides a platform for managers to understand their difficulties and offers practical solutions to leadership challenges that they can put into practice in their respective environments. She has helped me understand the important nuances about how and why people behave, think, and feel the way that they do in diverse situations. I found Lynne’s recommendations easy to implement, and her seminars have prepared me to become a more effective leader.”

“I always look forward to Lynne’s seminars, because I know I’ll learn something that I can use immediately at work and oftentimes at home. She shares real world examples that reflect what is really happening at work, shares practical tools designed to improve my leadership skills, and makes learning fun. It’s obvious from the stories she shares that she’s been in my shoes – she’s able to relate to me, because of her first-hand experience as a leader. Lynne’s credible, approachable, and motivating!”

“I took five of the six courses last year and the one I missed last year, I took yesterday. I’ve been in a leadership role for quite some time, and I find all of these courses a great refresher. I also learn new things as well that benefit me. Lynne is excellent in her presentation and encourages participation, giving a dynamic approach to each of the leadership topics. I’ve enjoyed the leadership curriculum; many thanks for the opportunity!”

“The Training Center hosted an AQP Phase Review on June 13, 2001. Representatives for the local and national FAA offices were present as were the Fleet Captains and/or their representatives. In addition, representatives from the Training Programs, Flight Standards and Quality Control, Instructor / Evaluator, and Initial Flight Officer Departments participated in the review. Dr. Sherman’s role as leader of this effort resulted in a Phase Review that was well received by the FAA and praised by all participants for its focused agenda, efficient use of time, and positive discussion of the issues.
Lynne personally briefed each of the fleets so they were well prepared to discuss the issues specific to their training programs, and invested the time necessary to become thoroughly familiar with the AQP data from all fleet training programs, the Instructor / Evaluator program, and the Initial Flight Officer program. The official Phase Review report and supporting data exceeded all FAA requirements for such a report and is exceptionally well written and intuitively organized.
As managers and AQP developers, we have participated in several AQP Phase Reviews over the past seven years. This review was far and away superior to anything we have accomplished in the past. This achievement was a direct result of Dr. Sherman’s leadership and commitment to delivering such a high quality product and event.”

“Lynne worked with a cross-functional team in San Francisco to address workplace issues for various groups of mechanics. In very short order, Lynne developed a focus group package for use by my staff and other HR professionals. The information Lynne provided is extremely comprehensive and user friendly. She pulled together recommendations, ranging from the number of focus groups needed, composition of participants, a background information form, introduction script, implementation format, and questions for each type of focus group recommended. Based on Lynne’s work, my team was able to conduct the focus groups easily and consistently. Many thanks, Lynne, for the high quality work you consistently produce!”

“On behalf of the Airframe Maintenance SFOOV Training Department, I want to express my sincere appreciation for all that you have done for us. As a direct result of your expertise and hard work, we have shown an immediate return on investment in the maintenance division as a result of the new skills assessments and structured interviews you developed and validated for use in hiring new airframe mechanics. We have seen a higher quality, better prepared workforce with an improved work ethic. These results are especially important in light of the recent heightened safety awareness among major air carriers.
Without your tenacity and quest for accurate maintenance knowledge, we would not be able to hire and promote such high quality candidates. Lynne, you have proven your worth over and over again in our quest for quality. We’ve also learned a great deal from you!”
